By having a clear picture, a vision, in my mind of the message I chose to communicate, my strenghts, my talents, my values and how I can be an asset to the people I wish to serve, my communications reach the minds of those I am communicating with more effectively.

No but I know a lot of companies that do rather than do it in-house.

What about practicing your speeches with a coach or even hiring a professional speech coach? A lot of companies bring in professionals to coach their employees or help them learn those essential skills.
